Amac offer professional fitness training courses for anyone looking to pursue a career in the fitness industry or build on their portfolio. They are one of the most reputable training providers in the fitness industry and all qualifications are accredited to the highest professional and industry standards.
Amac stands for ‘Associated Martial Arts Consultancy’ and was founded in 2000 by Dave Lee and Liz Lee. Dave had been lecturing in sports and fitness for various FE colleges and Universities from entry level vocational qualifications to degree programmes. Although martial arts was the original focus of their business, Amac soon pioneered training programmes to help all exercise instructors improve their skills. Since 2003, Amac has been approved by CYQ/ YMCA Awards to provide courses relating to personal training and delivered many projects that have encouraged progression into further education and employment.
Amac’s HQ is based near Canterbury in Kent and core courses run from Maidstone and London venues. The most popular route to qualifying is the PT Career Package which incorporates the L3 Diploma in Personal Training (includes Gym Instructor) and freebies (3 X PROfusion CPD courses, annual NUS Extra discount and annual REPs membership). It is the most cost-effective fitness course bundle on the market. Payment options are flexible and include 19+ Advanced Learner Loans and 0% interest payment plans. Qualifications can be completed in a timeframe that can be worked around existing commitments. It is possible to become a Personal Trainer in as little as six weeks or over a period of six months.
Quality education provision and student satisfaction drive all that Amac do. Students benefit from face-to-face attendance and independent learning, free manuals and access to online resources as well as the ongoing support of a Student Mentor. Amac’s tutors remain unrivalled by any other fitness training provider, working together to share best practice and consistently exceeding the expectations of students.
Amac have become increasingly aware over the years that many people encounter barriers in accessing typical fitness environments. Too often it was people whose health and wellbeing would greatly benefit from exercise. Amac has since launched a range of courses for students looking to work with more specialist populations including; L3 Ante Natal and Post Natal Instructor, L3 Older Adult Instructor, L3 Exercise Referral Instructor and L4 Obesity and Diabetes Specialist Instructor. They also have a sister brand ‘AllActive’ which specialises in training non-fitness professionals to lead group exercise classes. It is very popular with the health, care and voluntary sector and clients include housing associations, care homes, charities, leisure centres and the NHS. The AllActive course range includes; Chair-based Fitness, Promoting Physical Activity, Walk Leading, Fitness Instructing, Fitness Specialising and Nutrition.
Dave continues to develop and publish resources for the fitness industry and alongside his academic research and Liz oversees the business strategy, operation and development. Amac have helped thousands of students achieve industry recognised fitness qualifications. They have worked with public and private leisure providers, schools, colleges, local councils and constabularies, offered apprenticeships and government funding. Amac continue to be the ‘go to’ fitness training provider for the local area and can offer bespoke group training in-house too anywhere throughout the UK and abroad.
