If you’re keen to work as a personal trainer or fitness instructor, a recognised course is an essential step. Our Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training provides everything you need to take your first steps into employment in this growing and exciting field. Health and fitness is a rewarding area where you can really make a difference, as well as offering flexible employment. Naturally, you need to study a recognised and authoritative course that provides you with all the knowledge you need to work as a fitness professional.
Why study the Diploma?
More and more people are taking an interest in improving their health and fitness. As a personal trainer or fitness instructor, you’ll be able to play a part in helping people become healthier. It’s a flexible role offering many opportunities; you can work in a gym or fitness centre, or set up as a freelance personal trainer and find your own clients. A recognised qualification like our Diploma is essential not only for obtaining employment, but also for helping to maintain high standards within the fitness industry and protect clients from unqualified and unsafe instructors.
You can choose from two options according to your needs and availability. Part-time study offers greater flexibility for anyone with work or other commitments. This takes 20 weeks, including 10 weekends, plus 10-12 hours of home study per week. If you prefer full-time study you’ll need to dedicate five days per week over 6 weeks, combining classroom tuition with online study.
Full time or part time?
The full-time option may be preferable if you have ample free time or are keen to qualify as soon as possible. However, if you prefer a slower pace, or have family or work commitments, the part-time option may be more suitable. Do be sure you have time for home study in addition to the weekend classes if you choose the part-time option.
There are no entry requirements to take the Diploma, but if you have existing qualifications you may be able to receive a discount if you can show evidence. You will still be required to take the course in full in order to receive your Diploma.
Whether you choose the part-time or full-time course, it will lead to the same qualification – the Diploma in Fitness Instructing & Personal Training. This is a nationally recognised qualification that enables you to work as either a fitness instructor or personal trainer. It’s a very rewarding field that will establish you as playing an important part in improving the health and lifestyle of your clients and enabling them to live longer and healthier lives.
When you study for our Diploma you’ll learn all the necessary skills to work as a personal trainer or fitness instructor. As well as acquiring knowledge about fitness, you’ll also learn about running your own business, anatomy & physiology, first aid, and nutrition.
The first stage covers the Level Two Diploma in Health & Fitness. This provides the foundation for your knowledge and will allow you to take the first steps into a career in the fitness industry. This is followed by the Level Three Diploma in Fitness Instruction & Personal Training, allowing you to consolidate that knowledge and acquire all the professional skills needed to begin your career as a fitness professional.
Why study both?
You can, if you prefer, study each component as a separate certificate. However, there are a number of advantages to taking the Diploma as a whole rather than as separate courses. You will qualify more quickly and also save money.
We offer a range of payment options for your convenience. The most economical option is to pay in full, which offers a 5% discount. However, if you need to spread out payments you may take advantage of our interest-free payment plan. This requires a deposit of either 10% or 25% with the remainder divided into 12 monthly payments. Should you need assistance with costs, please contact us for information on possible sources of funding (please note that we cannot promise any funding options will be available to you).
